Excellently situated, next to the château', this luxurious 18th-century manor house was built on the foundations of an ancient medieval monastery. It stands on the banks of the Loire near the old town. 'Our suite was truly exceptional,' say visitors, 'walls covered in a delightful Jouy fabric; luxurious bathroom.' Another couple had a double room with 'beautiful decor, firm beds and good lighting'. The cheaper rooms at the top are thought good value. 'We liked the safe parking, the free Internet access. There is a spacious salon, and the breakfast room is 'lovely'. No restaurant: plenty in Amboise (the hotel keeps menus).
