Good Hotel Guide Review
‘Lovely looking and efficiently run,’ say visitors. At the château gates, this l8th century post house (Relais du Silence) has been owned by the Jeudi family since 1902. lt consists of five small houses, each with garden. There is a shady terrace for summer meals, and a charming beamed dining room. Antoine Jeudi is chef (Michelin star, 16 Gault Millau points for, eg, terrine de foie gras,a spergesv ertesg rillées; cochond e lait, saucea ux épices douces).’ Everything was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful.’ Menus are short and change infrequently, so guests staying more than a few days may need to choose from the fairly expensive carte. Somec correspondents thought the service ‘cool’. Most bedrooms have antiques and air conditioning; some face a rose garden; the ones on the main road have double glazing. The large lounges have a modern décor, ‘a bit out of kilter with the old-world charm’. The swimming pool is in a secluded garden across the road.
