Good Hotel Guide Review
Guests had “an altogether enjoyable stay” at this low, creeper-covered, 17th-century manor house on the banks of the Loire between Blois and Orléans, well placed for touring the châteaux. Another visitor wrote: “Superb as ever. Peaceful. A memorable sunset.” Once owned by a governor of Guadeloupe, it is now an unpretentious hotel where readers on their third visit liked their “large and excellently decorated room with a superb bathroom”. Another couple were offered a small room on arrival: “We demurred and were offered, without fuss, one much superior at no extra cost.” Most rooms have far-reaching views of the river. “The large, bustling restaurant was full, mostly with local families. The food was ample and beautifully presented. Prices are gentle. Worth every euro.” But: “They appear to do a flourishing line in catering for business groups.”
