The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
“Still the best and still our favourite,” says one of the many fans of this restaurant-with-rooms, now owned by Stephanie and Olivier Bicot. Originally an 18th-century coaching inn, it stands on a loop of the wide Seine, by the village square; above are the ruins of Château Gaillard, built by Richard Cœur de Lion in 1196. Other comments: “Superb in all respects.” “The large rooms overlooking the river cannot be bettered. Nothing beats sitting by the French windows watching the river traffic.” “Staff are caring, highly professional.” In the “charming” beamed restaurant, most tables have a river view. “Food is excellent'. The “cosy salon” has lots of books. The few rooms that face the courtyard with its flowery window boxes can hear cars.
