Good Hotel Guide Review
‘Friendly staff’ extend a ‘great welcome’ at this laid-back operation, an all-day café, store and B&B in the oldest house in a Georgian market town. Owners Clair and Iain Wilson also own The Dial House, Reepham (see main entry). Enter through the deli; individually decorated bedrooms, full of character, some snug, are at the back, up a winding staircase. They have stripped wood flooring, vintage furnishings, a plate of home-made biscuits; a shared fridge on the landing supplies fresh milk and water. Straightforward dishes, such as slow-cooked lamb, sweet-and-spicy chicken, pastas and pizzas, are served in the ‘rustic’ restaurant, candlelit at night. At breakfast, order ‘whatever hot dishes you like’ from the café menu. Set off with a picnic from the deli.
