Good Hotel Guide Review
Across the estuary from Dartmouth, in hillside woodland, Tony Pithers and Gordon Craig’s ultra-modern B&B is in a 1960s Le Corbusier-inspired ‘butterfly house’ – one of four in Devon. In this adults-only space, the atmosphere is intimate and discreet. Sleek, light-filled bedrooms decorated with abstract art each have their own entrance and private terrace with outdoor seating (some reached via steep steps). Well equipped, they have a mini-fridge, an iPod dock, an espresso machine and home-made sweet treats. Breakfast, in an open-plan room overlooking the swimming pool, might start with freshly squeezed juices, locally baked bread and fruit compote; eggs Benedict, home-made vegetarian sausages or other cooked dishes follow.
