Good Hotel Guide Review
‘Budget’ is far from ‘boring’ at this style-led, ‘excellent-value’ hotel within easy access of the city’s financial and cultural quarters. Part of an international chain aimed at ‘mobile citizens’, the ‘impressive hotel’ has a cool, contemporary atmosphere. There’s a DIY feel to the place – guests check themselves in and take themselves to their room – but ‘friendly and helpful staff’ are on hand whenever needed. The vast lobby and open-plan bar and canteen are accessible all day and night. Bright modular bedrooms have a huge bed, blackout blinds and high-tech details (a touch-screen tablet controls lighting, room temperature, window blinds and on-demand TV); a fridge holds free lemonades and chocolate bars. At breakfast: ‘divine’ freshly squeezed clementine juice; ‘truly excellent’ coffee. (Underground: London Bridge, Southwark)
