Good Hotel Guide Review
A flair for the dramatic is evident at this smart hotel, a high-step and a shuffle away from London’s longest-running theatre shows and West End debuts. Part of the sophisticated Firmdale group, it is liked for its ‘superb comfort and fantastic service’. The wood-panelled drawing room and characterful, individually decorated bedrooms are given co-owner Kit Kemp’s distinctive touch – find bold wallpapers, vintage prints and pleasingly mismatched furnishings. Most of the bedrooms have views across the city; some have a deep bathtub in a granite-and-oak bathroom. Families and groups should ask for connecting rooms. Sample the modern menu in Brasserie Max’s, or ask room service to bring you a dish; a varied breakfast (charged extra) includes vegan and vegetarian options.
