Good Hotel Guide Review
Erling Sorensen runs this stylish B&B in an 18th-century farmhouse, in a rural village ten minutes’ drive from the city centre. Rest on feather pillows and crisp bedlinen in the comfortable bedrooms (good double glazing keeps out noise from the road out front). Each room is supplied with good toiletries, bottled water, a hospitality tray with hot chocolate; a power shower in the bathroom. Take tea in the wisteria-hung patio when the weather cooperates; in colder months, a crackling fire warms the drawing room. There’s a ‘good selection’ of fruit at breakfast in the ‘bright, airy’ dining room, plus home-made jams and home-made bread; the full English is ‘beautifully cooked’. Local eateries are easily reached; a Michelin-mentioned gastropub is steps away. Regular buses (the stop is across the road) whiz you to the city.
