Good Hotel Guide Review
‘The feeling of a private home’ infuses Fina Jurado’s relaxed, elegant B&B in a medieval market town within the South Downs national park. The house sprawls, genteelly, across what was once four 13th-century cottages. There are polished oak floors, oriental carpets, period features and vintage finds. Guests are greeted with tea and home-baked cake. Most of the bedrooms are up the handsome curving staircase. All, cheery with fresh flowers, are stylishly rustic: one has a soaring beamed ceiling; another, a mezzanine and velvet chaise longue; yet another, a study overlooking the garden. Breakfast, taken communally at a large oak table, is served at a time to suit. Start the day with organic yogurts, home-made jams and marmalades, locally sourced bacon and sausages.
