Good Hotel Guide Review
At the heart of the historic market town of Shipston-on-Stour, this well-restored Georgian house, built in 1731, is now home to a welcoming restaurant-with-rooms. Downstairs, the stylish restaurant hits all the right marks, with both a steak menu on Wednesdays and a separate vegan menu. Upstairs, bedrooms are filled with quirky appeal. A family suite combines two separate bedrooms, with bumblebee wallpaper and plenty of bedtime storybooks; on the floor above, Room 5 has Aztec colours, a wrought iron bed, a freestanding roll-top bath in the bathroom, and stunning views across the Warwickshire countryside. No need to rush in the mornings: breakfast is till 11 on Saturdays, while brunch lingers till a leisurely 2 pm.
