Good Hotel Guide Review
Overlooking salt marsh and sea, this atmospheric 16th-century inn has rescued travellers from storms and hunger for over 500 years. These days, its stunning coastal location also draws twitchers and ramblers. Its oak-beamed bar has warming fires, settles and exposed stone walls hung with vintage agricultural equipment. Fresh seasonal dishes, daily specials and a good selection of vegetarian/vegan options are served in the restaurant and under the conservatory’s 200-year-old vine. Good weather draws diners on to the terrace. Most of the cosy bedrooms, each named after a crew member of a famous Hunstanton lifeboat, look out to the North Sea. At breakfast, even Fido gets a sausage. An Agellus Hotel (see also The Ship at Dunwich, Shortlist).
