Good Hotel Guide Review
With nothing between it and the salt marshes, this atmospheric 16th-century inn is just the place for beach walks and the fireside drinks that follow them. Sit in the oak-beamed bar or the cosy lounge; eat in the modern dining room or under a 200-year-old vine spreading over the conservatory. In good weather, find a seat on the terrace or in the Mediterranean style conservatory. The menu might include such dishes as a smoked fish and shellfish platter, warm caper bread; fresh seasonal dishes, and a good selection of vegetarian/vegan options. Most of the smart and cosy bedrooms have views over the marshes to the sea – perhaps even the sounds of the ocean breeze coming in over the coast. Breakfast is fine fuel for coastal strolls: the full works, local ham, kippers and grilled tomatoes. Even Fido gets a sausage.
