Good Hotel Guide Review
By the footpath skirting the Avon, this popular bar/restaurant-with-rooms occupies a Grade II listed building in a ‘delightful little town’. Owned by the Stay Original Company, its ‘excellent’ bar has a ‘great selection’ of craft spirits, local ales, West Country ciders. Throughout the day, snacks, small plates, refined pub food and dry-aged steaks are plied in the industrial-style dining areas. Outdoor seating in the courtyard ‘is a plus’. Along a maze of stairs and corridors, voguish bedrooms (many facing the river) have modern textiles ranged across reclaimed furniture, timber cladding and wonky floors: split-level suites (‘steep, polished steps’) have deep window seats.
