Good Hotel Guide Review
Near the mouth of the Camel estuary, Paul and Lesley Stapleton have transformed their listed early 13th-century manor house into a lovingly restored B&B. Through the granite pillared gateway, eight acres of mature gardens contain an idyllic spot for a complimentary cream tea. The log-warmed lounge has a well-stocked honesty bar. Spacious bedrooms have emperor-size bed, a hospitality tray with home-made treats, views of the courtyard and/or gardens. Some bathrooms have a free-standing bath and walk-in shower. Hospitable owners, the Stapletons provide late-arriving B&B guests with a small snack menu. Hearty Cornish breakfasts, which include home-made blueberry pancakes with clotted cream, can be walked off on the footpath to the village. Mountain bikes can be borrowed.
