Good Hotel Guide Review
Wrapped in woodland, on the banks of the River Teign, this former corn mill is now a tranquil country house hotel with fires in the sitting rooms and a well-regarded restaurant. ‘Very comfortable’ bedrooms with ‘good facilities’, and some with a private patio, have views of the gardens and countryside; a charming family room has a window seat overlooking the grounds. Seasonally changing menus include smoked mackerel with beetroot and apple salsa, and herb-crusted lamb with pomme fondant; on warm days, a Devon cream tea may be taken in the garden. ‘A little gem’, with ‘very attentive service’; ideal for exploring Dartmoor, with river path walks to Fingle Bridge and Castle Drogo. Packed lunches available.
