Good Hotel Guide Review
With a dash of country cool, this spruced-up pub-with-rooms serves as a village hub, and then some. The enterprise consists of an award-winning microbrewery, a well-stocked deli/farm shop, a hillside spa barn, a lively restaurant serving modern comfort food, and a trio of rustic-chic bedrooms to fall in to at the end of the day. Each room is different – a spacious suite has a claw-footed bath in the bathroom – but all are supplied with natural toiletries, and fluffy towels warmed on towel rails. A continental and cooked breakfast is served in the Garden Room. A bonus: the residents’ lounge has a supply of milk, juice and biscuits. Just beyond the village, scenic trails wind through this stretch of the Salisbury Plain.
