Good Hotel Guide Review
A charming stopover not far from the M1, Charles and Charlotte Meynell’s B&B in a listed Georgian manor house has bags of style and a splendid walled garden. The welcoming red brick family home has a grand entrance and a country house atmosphere; in the fire-warmed drawing room guests are offered tea and biscuits, or can help themselves to a drink from the honesty bar. Some of the spacious bedrooms, each named after a local hunt, have elegant sash windows, others have exposed timbers; all have oodles of character. Plentiful breakfasts include fresh fruit, home-made granola and eggs from the Meynells’ hens. Local pub grub is as near as the end of the drive.
