Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Located in the Buda Castle Quarter, St George Residence is one of the city's oldest hotels and has hosted many illustrious guests over the years. It is set in a building dating from 1392, and although it has been modernised (the last time in 2007) it still retains an authentic historical character. There are four kinds of suites available – bronze, silver, diamond and gold – and all are very spacious, and furnished in Empire period antiques; they offer living areas and kitchens. There's also a restaurant and cafe, both decorated with 18th century frescoes in Colonial and Oriental-Hindi style, and serving both Hungarian and international cuisine. There's also a courtyard garden, and a wine cellar and bar in the atmospheric basement.
