The old grey house is “not impressive from the road”, but its “calm comfort” beguiled recent visitors. “It is something special, small, with beautifully furnished, very comfortable bedrooms; one feels one is staying in a private house. Service and food very enjoyable.” In the elegant restaurant, with wall hangings and large fireplaces, chef/patron Gilles Dudognon offers refined cuisine eg, déclinaison de foies gras; ris de veau farc de truffes. There is a wide selection of Bordeaux wines. At the rear, a modern conservatory faces the extensive lawns and forests of the estate, and there is a swimming pool.
