Good Hotel Guide Review
This boutique hotel is set in two converted 18th-century townhouses – from the outside, they look non-descript, but on the inside the decor is refreshingly contemporary, with interesting decor touches (wallpaper by the Dutch artist Barbara Broekman, for example, plus unique artworks) that add character without being overwhelming. Rooms can be on the small side, and those in the lower level have limited views and are best avoided, but the designer beds are super comfortable and the bathrooms sleek and modern; all have rain showers and some have jacuzzi bathtubs. Breakfast is extra and on the expensive side, and there’s also a restaurant rather resembling a deluxe diner which offers a limited menu of international fare (burgers, salads, sandwiches). There are plenty of restaurants nearby, though, many Indonesian. Although this hotel is off the tourist track it’s a short walk to Vondelpark and the museums (Rijksmuseum Van Gogh Museum etc). There’s a small garden, and an honesty bar.
