Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Tastefully converted by its owners Sandra and André Berger, this group of 18th-century stone farm buildings is now an inexpensive B&B hotel. It stands in a large park of woods and rolling fields, amid wonderful Provençal scenery. Some bedrooms have a large private terrace, others a balcony; the rooms in the Résidence (four night minimum lets) have a kitchenette. 'Our large, uncluttered room was attractive, high-ceilinged; lots of storage space, good plumbing.' 'Excellent breakfasts.' No restaurant, but advice is given about local eating places. In fine weather, you can picnic under walnut trees on the wide lawn, near the big swimming pool. Forcalquier, on a hillside nearby, was the medieval capital of Upper Provence. Its 13th-century Franciscan monastery has a museum of early religious art.
