Good Hotel Guide Review
A cheering sight in blue and white, this laid-back modern hotel is in a small village on North Uist, a paradise for wildlife and beach lovers. Owned by Amanda and Niall Leveson Gower, it is run with the ‘same high standards and very good food’ as sister hotel Langass Lodge, Locheport (see main entry). A nautical theme runs through the light-filled lounge and contemporary brasserie, where the imaginative menus use local game, the freshest of seafood, and garden vegetables and herbs. ‘Well-equipped bedrooms’ are made cosy with tweedy fabrics; four rooms open on to the garden. Surrounded by a rugged beauty, the landscaped grounds contain a decked area with views over the bay. Excellent walks; a village shop and pub are close by. Well placed for the ferries.
