The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
A Michelin-starred restaurant with rooms is accompanied by Grade I-listed woodland and lake gardens plus a vineyard. In an Italianate mansion, the serenely beautiful bedrooms all have a subtle palette, designer fabrics and wallpaper (William Morris's 'Meadowsweet', Colefax and Fowler's 'Bowood' roses…), a chandelier, espresso machine, rainfall shower; most have a roll-top bath too. In Interlude, Jean Delport's theatrically presented tasting menus are themed around ingredients produced or foraged on the estate, in dishes such as onion, forest ashes; halibut, elderflower, joie de vivre. If the full Monty is beyond your budget (and it is expensive), you can always take afternoon tea, or order a vineyard or garden picnic.
