Good Hotel Guide Review
Janie and Mike Cooksley have brought a riotous combination of colour and eye-catching features to the Cornish countryside. Their faintly bohemian B&B on the Roseland peninsula, in extensive grounds, has indulgent bedrooms in the main house and in quirky buildings accessed through the garden. Each is as different as can be – one suite has its own stone-built sauna; another, a gypsy caravan parked outside the front door. Well equipped, all have plenty of space, a Roberts radio, a TV/DVD and much else. An informal three-course set dinner may be served, by arrangement, in the ‘party shed’ in the wild flower garden (special diets catered for). Guests in three garden suites have breakfast delivered to the room; for the others, the morning meal is taken communally in the conservatory: fresh fruit compotes, warm muffins, local smoked fish, farm sausages, eggs ‘any way you like’.
