Good Hotel Guide Review
Nestling in the hills in Thornhill (a northern Cardiff suburb) is this welcoming, dog-friendly hotel in a Georgian manor house with sprawling views over the city and Severn estuary. At the front, a gravelled terrace with a three-tiered fountain adds country house appeal to the creeper-covered Grade II listed building; stone steps lead to elegant rooms where large windows with heavily draped curtains or wooden shutters look out on to lush greenery. Afternoon tea may be taken by the fire in a comfortable, blue-walled lounge. Spacious bedrooms are enlivened with feature wallpaper and bright cushions; three rooms have garden access. If the city’s too far, Sequoias restaurant serves lunch, tea and dinner. Part of Town & Country Collective.
