Good Hotel Guide Review

‘Well located’ in a leafy neighbourhood a short walk from the West End, Lorraine Gibson’s modern town house B&B is a tranquil base. The Victorian house has been elegantly restored: original fireplaces and intricate cornicing remain. Spacious, high-ceilinged bedrooms have a super-king-size bed and mood lighting; two suites, positively vast, have huge windows overlooking gardens to the front or rear. Breakfast, ordered the night before, may be brought to the room at a time to suit, or eaten communally in the lounge. Guests are given access to the private garden across the road; pretty Kelvingrove Park is just steps further.

Guest comments

'Well located, but it’s a tough climb up two flights of stairs past high-ceilinged floors to the spacious Towers Suite in which we spent four nights. It has a large sofa bed and spacious bathroom with walk-in shower and bath. The décor is a triumph of design over comfort. “Mood” lighting inadequate for reading. The breakfasts were of generally good quality, with a nice fresh fruit selection (melon, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, peach). The key code for the gate to the private gardens across the road can be provided. The two parking spaces round the back are aHowever, there are no on-street parking restrictions on weekends.
