Good Hotel Guide Review
On the edge of the New Forest, this comfortable Victorian villa in large grounds is a reviving spot. Formerly TerraVina, it has metamorphosed into a large airy kitchen café offering a relaxed space for local get-togethers and respite for visitors after a long forest walk. An all-day menu, including breakfast and brunch, salads and afternoon tea is served until 3.30 pm by a ‘happy team’, overseen by Nina Basset. (Sadly, her husband, Gérard, died in January 2019.) Peaceful bedrooms have a little seating area, capsule coffee machine, good lighting. ‘The sparkling clean bathroom had a claw-footed bath, organic toiletries, generous towels.’ Three rooms have a patio garden, four a roof terrace. The terrace is ‘a great place to sit in the summer’. Artisan products in the shop.
