Good Hotel Guide Review
A metamorphosis is underway on the edge of the New Forest: formerly TerraVina, this comfortable Victorian villa has a new name and a revamped style. ‘It still has the same happy service and high standards,’ report Guide inspectors in 2018. Nina and Gérard Basset continue to run the show, if a little more in the background. ‘We slept really well in our well-equipped bedroom (a little seating area, a capsule coffee machine, good lighting); the sparkling clean bathroom had a claw-footed bath, organic toiletries and generous towels.’ Three rooms have a patio garden, three a roof terrace. No need to rush: an all-day menu, including breakfast, is served in the large airy kitchen café, even after check-out.
A 200-acre site, famous for the Rothschild Collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, rare trees and shrubs.
A wildlife park, dedicated to the conservation of biodiversity and other natural resources
Tours of the vineyard are available, alongside a farm shop.
