Good Hotel Guide Review
On the main road through town, the historic courtrooms and judges’ lodgings of this ‘imposing’, iconic Grade II listed building have been transformed into a style-conscious hotel, restaurant and grand events venue. In ‘deep Georgian hues’, high-ceilinged bedrooms hold reminders of the past – trunk-style furniture here, a cheval mirror there, bone china cups and saucers. Among the thoughtful perks: home-made cookies, a coffee machine, a hot water bottle. Under a splendid domed ceiling in the ‘truly stunning’ former Crown Court, diners pass judgment on cocktails and wholesome modern British food. A revamp of the restaurant and rooftop gardens is underway. Part of the small, family-run Flat Cap group of Cheshire hotels.
