Good Hotel Guide Review
A lively gathering spot for locals, this ‘lovely’, unpretentious pub close to Offa’s Dyke Path makes an ideal base for the area’s many walks and bike trails. Promising ‘a real taste of Wales’, the ‘friendly hosts’ provide a welcoming atmosphere, and good beer in the cosy bar (low, beamed ceilings, roaring log fire), and tasty home-made fare in the traditional dining room. Neat bedrooms are a bit basic, but comfortable, with en-suite shower rooms; a separate guest bathroom has a tub for a relaxing soak. When the sun shines, guests spill outside to enjoy the gorgeous views of woods, fields and hills. The Grade II listed church of St Berris is next door.
