Good Hotel Guide Review
In foodie Edgbaston – Michelin-starred Simpsons is a minute down the road – this Victorian villa has been voguishly refurbished with a ‘boutique country house’ feel. Well-chosen antiques and retro furnishings fill the creatively decorated bedrooms (some large enough to suit a family). Complimentary coffees and newspapers are available in the ground-floor sitting room; pour yourself something stronger from the honesty bar if you fancy. Next door, the sister gastropub has a wide selection of real ales, cocktails and wines to match its seasonal British menu. Breakfast has plenty of interesting choices, including coconut milk porridge, American pancakes and veggie options. Five mins from the city centre; on-street parking is by the garden and suntrap terrace.
