Good Hotel Guide Review
Run in conjunction with The High Field gastropub (a Peach pub) next door, this white-fronted Victorian villa in upmarket Edgbaston has the feel of a ‘boutique country house’. Its welcoming sitting room sets a homely scene with vases of fresh flowers, complimentary newspapers and a capsule coffee machine. Something a little stronger is found in the honesty bar or in the gastropub, alongside seasonal British fare including Cornish lamb pavé, braised breast, warm quinoa salad and mint jus and 28-day dry-aged steaks. Well-chosen antiques and retro furnishings fill the creative bedrooms (some large enough to suit a family). The peaceful area has shops and restaurants nearby, and is just five minutes from the city centre.
