Good Hotel Guide Review
Embracing its rural roots, a cosy, traditional inn deep in the Cotswold countryside. There are hunting trophies on the walls, comfortable leather armchairs beside a log fire, and dark-hued, individually decorated bedrooms named after prize-winning hounds from the local hunt. Visiting dogs are warmly welcomed with a bowl, a bed and a sausage for breakfast. Split between the main pub building and a renovated stable, rooms have quality bedding, handmade toiletries, vintage-style mugs, shortbread from a local bakery. The restaurant’s British dishes feature game sourced from neighbouring estates, plus daily blackboard specials; bread and ice cream is home-made. In summer, pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven in the garden.
