Good Hotel Guide Review
A favourite haunt of the Star Wars cast and crew while filming on offshore Skellig, this family-run guest house on the harbour front is a force to be reckoned with. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) learned to pull the perfect pint in the brightly painted Irish tavern, which is full of all the nooks, crannies and maritime memorabilia you’d expect; the sitting room became production headquarters. The lively spot is well liked by locals too for its straight-off-the-boat fish and buzzy bar. Upstairs, restful rooms feature beds draped in crisp linen, vivid reds; a marble bathroom; handy extras (iron, ironing board, drinks tray, good toiletries). From many, magnificent views over the harbour. Home-made breads, a full Irish, bolster a day of wildlife watching along the coast.
