Cornwall meets the Caribbean at this Barbados-inspired resort ‘village’ set against a backdrop of cliffs on its own private beach. Accommodation is a mix of sea-facing hotel rooms, most with balcony, beach cabins, beach houses and ocean suites, some with hot tub. The style is marvellously eclectic with rattan chairs and ceiling fans, bare floorboards, antiques and artworks, four posters, travel posters, Chinoiserie, Art Deco, stained glass, vintage gramophones and vinyl. Breakfast on a Cornish kipper, full English or veggie. Dine on Newquay Bay lobster, crab linguine, steak, ribs, shellfish platter, or a spicy bean burger in the sea-view Colonial Restaurant, and sip a rum punch in the North Coast Beach Bar and Grill. Sand, surf and sublime sunsets are included.
