Good Hotel Guide Review
There’s a bijou feel at Philippa McKnight and David Hoyes’s stone-built B&B, close to the seafront and the town. Original Victorian features (stained-glass panels, original cornices, fireplaces) sit comfortably alongside arresting colours, vintage furnishings and artistic touches. Relax over a welcoming afternoon tea, then stroll through the garden or borrow a book from the collection in the sitting room. Spacious bedrooms have a king-size bed and plenty of pleasing amenities: a digital radio, tea and coffee tray, bathrobes and eco-friendly toiletries. No wardrobe in most rooms – wall hooks do the job instead. Breakfast is packed with locally sourced and produced ingredients; imaginative options include Mexican and Spanish dishes and imaginative vegetarian and vegan choices.
