Good Hotel Guide Review
This ‘nearly faultless boutique hotel’, standing in ‘pretty gardens’, is in a leafy neighbourhood ‘within walking distance of everything’ – but guests might not want to leave. On arrival at the villa, formed from two converted Victorian houses, visitors receive ‘a friendly welcome’ from ‘delightful’ managers Caroline Browning and Jean-Luc Bouchereau (and dog, Muttley), along with ‘a generous tea’ including home-baked cakes. All around, well-chosen antiques and interesting prints. The individually decorated bedrooms have home-made shortbread and fresh milk. Breakfast brings a complimentary Buck’s Fizz, paired with, perhaps, yogurt compotes, croissants, ‘proper kippers’. The hosts offer informed dinner recommendations in the centre of Bath.
