Good Hotel Guide Review
Go on a bear hunt in the deepest Yorkshire Wolds. Sally and Chris Brealey, with Sally’s mother, Maureen Holmes, have created a whimsical woodland art trail (including a sleuth of bear sculptures) that carves a path around their unusual enterprise. The Georgian farmstead includes a restaurant, tea shop, gift shop and art gallery; accommodation is in a sympathetically designed barn newly built using reclaimed materials. Each of the comfortable, soundproofed bedrooms is decorated with a nod to a different historic period – Tudor, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco; tea- and coffee-making facilities are provided. A wide-ranging menu of straightforward dishes (pies, traditional roasts, a soup of the day) is served in the restaurant all day. 6 miles W of Driffield.
