Good Hotel Guide Review
A green ethos prevails at this ‘friendly’ hotel, in a handsome Victorian villa within strolling distance of the beach. Ethically run, the hotel has implemented many sustainable initiatives, from its community vegetable garden and responsibly sourced furnishings to the solar panels and beehives on the roof. Bedrooms (some snug) are smartly decorated in pleasing, earthy tones; they have ‘crisp’ organic bed linens, ‘soft pillows’ and a bathroom with ‘proper fluffy towels’, perhaps even a reclaimed Victorian roll-top bath. Rear rooms are quietest. In Arbor restaurant, uncomplicated but imaginative dishes use organic, Fairtrade and locally sourced ingredients, and may be served on the terrace in good weather.
