Good Hotel Guide Review
A good base for outdoorsy sorts, and the dogs that accompany them, this ‘unpretentious, friendly’ inn (Agellus Hotels) is close to the beach and the RSPB reserves at Dingle Marshes and Minsmere. There are ‘great walks from the door’. Real ales and ‘very large portions’ of pub favourites attract locals and visitors to the creeper-covered, red-brick building. On a warm day, find a spot in the sheltered courtyard or the ‘lovely garden’. Each bedroom is different, and some are snug; the best have views over the marshes. (Some rooms, in the converted outbuildings, open directly on to the garden – ‘perfect for the dogs’.) Discuss rooms before booking: some have night-time noise from the kitchen extractor fan. ‘Excellent choices at breakfast’, plus ‘tasty’ granary toast.
