Good Hotel Guide Review
Take a well-regarded kitchen, throw in equally impressive bedrooms and a soupçon of laid-back glamour, and you have Paul Kitching and Katie O’Brien’s splendid restaurant-with-rooms. Airy spaces within the Georgian town house, which faces the Royal Terrace Gardens, have been given a light, quirky touch: a vast copy of a painting by Caravaggio; a sculpted Greek-style head; a dazzling chandelier. An epicurean evening begins in the handsome first-floor drawing room with an aperitif, followed by an accomplished weekly-changing menu in the elegant dining room with clear sight into the kitchen. Top-notch dishes, including 2- to 5-course lunches, have French influences. In the crisply styled bedrooms, plush seating, city or firth views.
