Good Hotel Guide Review
In ‘well-maintained ornamental gardens’, this ‘handsome hotel’ occupies an ‘extensively enlarged’ old farmhouse on the outskirts of a ‘delightful’ medieval village. It is run by ‘friendly, attentive staff’. The bedrooms are ‘clean and comfortable’, but spend your day in the ‘splendid outdoor spaces’ in fine weather: a brook meanders through the garden; there are terraces with ‘plenty of tables and seating’, a croquet lawn and putting area. ‘Inside and out, there are many secluded areas to enjoy some privacy.’ ‘High-quality’ modern British dishes from a ‘small but well-balanced menu’ are served at lunch and dinner. Leave room for pudding: a dark chocolate fondant with banana ice cream was thought ‘perfection on a plate’. ‘Enormous portions’ at breakfast.
