Good Hotel Guide Review

In the centre of a small town described by resident scribe Dylan Thomas as a ‘timeless, mild, beguiling island’, visitors can stay in a former pub where the poet once told stories in exchange for a little refreshment. More usual forms of payment are accepted today at the ‘comfortable, smart B&B’ run by ‘helpful hosts’ Jane and Keith Nelson. The blue-painted property has spacious well-equipped rooms with large bed, a cafetière and freshly ground coffee, a selection of teas, home-baked biscuits, an umbrella for when it rains. Two rooms have views of the castle. An ‘excellent breakfast spread’ includes vanilla waffles, blueberry muffins and vegetarian sausages – ‘all home made and delicious’.
