Good Hotel Guide Review
A tranquil retreat from the bustle of nearby St Ives, Mark and Fenella Thomas’s chic Edwardian house stands above Carbis Bay. Characterful, well-equipped bedrooms share marine and pale hues, but are otherwise individual; a garden room has loungers on a private deck; in another, beach views are best admired from a broad window seat; some rooms have a stand-alone bath near exposed stone walls. Afternoons bring home-made cake to the room, while a garden hammock is a relaxed spot to tackle a book from the lounge’s collection, or a complimentary evening drink. Cornish breakfasts, hearty and organic, kick-start the day with a view across the water.
